Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received: June 28, 2022
Consumed: July 30, 2022
Misc.: Canned on June 28, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)

Untappd description for this one was a “DDH Foggy DIPA with Citra, Galaxy & Mosaic.”

Poured a light golden hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

The Galaxy jumped out on the nose, followed by Citra and lesser Mosaic. Specifically passion fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, peach, lemon zest, coconut, dish soap, melon, herbal, wet grass and hints of bubblegum. Got some bug spray and perfume from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got Galaxy, Citra, passion fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, peach, lemon zest, coconut, dish soap, Mosaic, herbal, wet grass, bug spray, perfume, viney berry, hints of Juicy Fruit, green vegetable and lingering skunk. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Not nearly as good as I thought it was going to be, but I’d have it again. May have underrated it slightly. (Overall - 4.00)

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.

S: Nearly over ripe tropical, stone fruit, and melon, light citrus, a little pine, a bit grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel honey sweetness.

T: Tropical and stone fruit, candied pineapple, overripe mango, passion fruit, peach, guava, papaya, and watermelon, citrus, lemon lime and orange/tangerine, a touch of pine, slightly grassy, biscuity malt, and plenty of caramel honey sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: This one has a bit of a sugary tropical punch kinda thing going on. If they can reign that in and get it a bit more balanced it could be even better. For now, solid, but nothing too special.

On tap at Humble Sea in Santa Cruz.
Foggy yellow with white head.
The aroma is intensely pineapple, with some notes of frosting.
Seriously tastes like liquid pineapple upside down cake. Sweet with nearly no bitterness.
Probably the most unique IPA I've ever tried. I don't say that lightly.

Solid DIPA. slightly grating on the palate with overly citrusy flavors, but there was a good combo of malt backing and citrus/tropical hops that were indeed tasty.
