Did you say it five times fast? I bet you tried. Now wet your whistle with this crisp little pale ale and try it again. Toy Boat Toy Boat Toy Boyt Tow Bowt. Anyway, this thing has Citra and Motueka hops, which give a little edge to an otherwise very round body. Munich malt adds a little intrigue that might have you saying the name five times slow. Like over the course of a few hours at the bar.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden straw yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to firm layer and leaves some spotty lacing.
S: Grassy, citrus zest, a touch herbal and resinous, light tropical and stone fruit, and crackery malt.
T: Zesty citrus, lime, lemon, grapefruit, and a little tangerine, grassy resinous spicy herbal notes, underlying tropical and stone fruit, passion fruit, apricot, peach, and mango, crackery slightly biscuity malt, and a fairly dry finish.
M: Light to medium body, slightly lively moderate carbonation.
O: Drinks like a big brother beer to Great Notion's Spineless which uses the same hop combo, but sits at just 4.2%. Crisp, zesty, hits the spot on a warm day.

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received Sept. 27, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 21, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 13, 2021; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Untappd description for this one was a “West Coast Pale Ale with Citra and Motueka hops.” Aroma mentioned was tangerine, mandarin, lime and lemon peel with the flavor of orange pith and grapefruit pith.”
Poured a medium-yellow semi-clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled big Citra, lemon, lime, tangerine rind, orange, grapefruit and peach. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good but still pretty solid. In order got big Citra, lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine rind, orange, peach, orange creamsicle and hints of leafy mint. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)
For a West Coast Pale Ale, this was excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
