Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Herbal, earthy, resinous, citrus zest, subtle underlying tropical and stone fruit, and biscuity bready malt.
T: Resinous pine, earthy herbal notes, citrus, grapefruit and orange, underlying tropical and stone fruit, green strawberry, apricot, passion fruit, and watermelon, biscuity bready malt, and a fairly dry finish.
M: A touch on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, substantial yet still crisp.
O: Drinks like an old school Westy with plenty of resinous and herbal notes and just enough underlying fruity notes to round it out.

Packaged on 9/28 - enjoyed on 10/21 - poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.
Faintly hazy jonquil liquid with a papaya whip finger of soft peaks up top. Active pearling lacing; decent retention.
Tropical fruit, peach, and light watermelon notes in the nose.
A bit more citrus on the palate, some melon, moderate bitterness, but the HBC 472 character comes to dominate the finish with its distinctive "barrel aged" and vanilla notes. Some floral elements emerge as the ale warms slightly. Double-dry hopped with Simcoe, El Dorado, and HBC 472, the beer has a complex hop profile with a neutral malt backbone.
Crisp yet very smooth mouth-feel.
Very unique showcase for HBC 472 if nothing else.
