Grabbed this and five other cans on recent trip to San Diego Wine & Beer Company after picking up some other stuff at Burgeon. Specifically picked out two Humble Sea Hazy TIPAs, including this one. Was described on Untappd as “DDH Hop-Fused TIPA double dry-hopped and fused with Riwaka, Strata & Mosaic.” Still new to Riwaka, but hop profile is grapefruit and kumquat. Should pair well with Strata.
Poured a medium yellow foggy (you have to use fog for Humble Sea beers) color with three fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Mosaic jumped out in the nose, mainly because I just had an all-Mosaic beer. Got both the Strata and Riwaka (I think) too. Also grapefruit, dank weed, pine, viney berry, mango, herbal, lemon, floral and hints of bubblegum. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
First thought on the taste was how smooth it was for 10.3 pct. ABV. Got big Strata, Mosaic, grapefruit, dank weed, pine, viney berry, mango, lemon, herbal, melon and hints of bubblegum. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 5.00)
I really think I underrated this, but this was great. So smooth and flavorful. (Overall - 4.25)
