Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours faintly hazy golden straw yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Zesty citrus, resinous, and grassy, subtle underlying tropical and stone fruit, and biscuity malt. (Not bad, but the zesty resinous grassy side dominates and makes it kinda one note while the rest of the fruity notes hide in the shadows.)

T: Big zesty citrus dominates, lime, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine, underlying tropical and stone fruit slowly come out, apricot, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and peach, resinous, a bit grassy, biscuity malt, and just a hint of sweetness with a fairly dry finish.

M: Medium body, slightly prickly moderate carbonation, fairly crisp.

O: Bright and crisp, solid proper Westy that would definitely hit the spot on a late summer day. I wish the Citra presence was a bit stronger though. You get a bit of that fruity side towards the back end in the taste, but it's pretty well hidden on the nose. The Motueka is in control most of the time; not that that's a bad thing, but it leaves you wanting for a bit more depth.

Going off another BA's review, there may have been a change to the hop bill since it was first launched under this name, going from Rakau, Nelson, and Mosaic to Motueka and Citra. I'll have to dig in deeper to be sure, but for now I'm just including this as a footnote.

Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received Sept. 27, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 21, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 15, 2021; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)

This would be my first beer from the Humble Sea monthly deal I’m apart of now with Kevin and Sonny. It’s $80 for three 4-packs a month, delivered to your door. Kevin is getting half of them, and Sonny and I are splitting the other half. Untappd’s description was a “DDH Foggy IPA with Nelson, Mosaic & Rakau.” Listed aroma was pineapple, mango sorbet and the flavor listed was mango and blueberry.

Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden hazy color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see just a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled just a little too old. But I did get mango sorbet, pineapple, peach, apricot, pear, grapefruit rind and stone fruit. For mentioned hops I got more Rakau than the others, followed by Mosaic and then Nelson. About the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Still was good though. In order got mango sorbet, Rakau, pear, pineapple, peach, apricot, Nelson, stone fruit, grapefruit find, herbal, menthol, hints of Mosaic and lingering peppery spice. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)

A very good hazy IPA overall. Would have it again for sure. (Overall - 3.75)
