Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received Sept. 27, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 21, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 16, 2021; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Untappd description for this one was a “DDH Hop Fused Foggy DIPA with Citra, Riwaka, Sabro & Pacific Jade.” Aroma mentioned was papaya and pineapple with the flavor of guava nectar and orange peel.”
Poured a light bright golden foggy (you have to use fog for Humble Sea) color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see plenty of bubble streams creeping up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding-to-excellent uneven foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
That Sabro jumped out on the nose first. Also nectarine, dank weed, pine, Citra, grapefruit, lemon, stone fruit, cedar, Riwaka, guava and papaya. Not quite as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted Sabro, nectarine, dank weed, pine, Citra, grapefruit, pineapple, cedar, lemon, stone fruit, Riwaka, guava, papaya and hints of vanilla. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another excellent hazy offering from Humble Sea. (Overall - 4.25)
