Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Pale Ale
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received Oct. 28, 2021
Consumed: Dec. 1, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 15, 2021; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Untappd description for this one was a “West Coast Pale with Strata & Centennial.” Was looking forward to a nice West Coast Pale Ale.
Poured a pale yellow clear color with six fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass. Almost perfect layered foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Strata, pine, dry grass, black pepper, cinnamon (?), lime, dish soap, mango, berry and some earthy malt. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted Strata, pine, dry grass, berry, black pepper, lime, dish soap, mango, earthy malt and lemon zest. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
A solid West Coast Pale Ale overall. Outstanding even. (Overall - 4.00)
