Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received Jan. 23, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 27, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Untappd description read “Foggy IPA with Rakau, Vic Secret and Wai-iti.” Should be another good one.
Poured a medium golden hazy color with six fingers of rocky white head. Got lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled pine, herbal, passion fruit, peach, apricot, stone fruit, grapefruit, lime, pear and hints of apple. For the mentioned hops was pretty even with Rakau, Vic Secret and Wai-iti (looking at hop profile) all playing a part. Liked it even more from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Not sure I like this hop combo. In order got spicy pine, herbal, passion fruit, Vic Secret, peach, apricot, Rakau, stone fruit, bitter grapefruit peel, pear and lime. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was very good overall, but not as good as I hoped. (Overall - 3.75)
