Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (fire) glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received April 2, 2022
Consumed: April 5, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Untappd description was “DDH Foggy IPA with Citra, Centennial, Simcoe & Chinook conditioned with pineapple & coconut.” Didn’t have a lot of hope going in.
Poured a light amber hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass pretty quickly. World-class foamy spiderweb lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled coconut, pineapple, Piña colada, tangerine, Citra, grapefruit, lemon and vanilla. About as good from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted better than the nose. In order got pineapple, coconut, Piña colada, tangerine, grapefruit, Citra, vanilla, lemon and coconut cream. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, sugary finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This one grew on me. Liked it more than I thought I would. (Overall - 4.00)
