Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 3rd anniversary 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received May 29, 2022
Consumed: June 3, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Untappd description for this one was a “DDH Hop Fused Foggy DIPA with Citra, Nectaron & El Dorado.”
Poured a light golden foggy (always foggy with Humble Sea) color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Super dank on the nose. Got Nectaron, sugary peach, nectarine, passion fruit, orange, resin, skunk, El Dorado, lemon candy, melon, mango, red grapefruit, pineapple, Citra, stone fruit and guava. Got a little better each sniff. Even better out of the can with Nectaron still shining through. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose for the most part. Still super dank. Nectaron still stood out, followed by dank resin, peach, nectarine, passion fruit, orange, mango, red grapefruit, Citra, lemon candy, melon, El Dorado, stone fruit and guava. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dank finish. (Feel - 4.25)
I’m a sucker for Nectaron, but this was excellent overall. So dank and flavorful. (Overall - 4.25)
