Foggy IPA double dry hopped with Galaxy, Nelson & Citra
Surf SUP features a punchy hop combo of all three of the big heavy hitting hops along with a super fluffy malt bill consisting of raw wheat, malted wheat, and flaked oats. Surf SUP bursts of honey dew, orange zest, and pomelo on the tongue followed by a creamy finish.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (air) glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received: Aug. 21, 2022
Consumed: Sept. 27, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 21, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Untappd description for this one was a “DDH Foggy IPA with Galaxy, Nelson, and Citra.” That’s a nice hop combo.
Poured a bright light golden color with three fingers of frothy white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass, looking like a snow globe. World-class uneven foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Smell - 4.50)
Smelled the Galaxy, followed by Nelson and the Citra for the mentioned hops. Also peach skin, orange peel, tangerine, passion fruit, papaya, melon, grapefruit rind, pineapple and citrus zest. Just as good from the can with noticeable pineapple notes. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got Galaxy, peach skin, orange peel, grapefruit rind, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, Nelson, Citra, pear, peppery spice, melon, papaya and lemon zest. Seemed boozier than 6.6 pct. ABV. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was very good but not quite as good as I hoped with those hops (Galaxy, Nelson and Citra). (Taste - 4.00)

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Citrus, grassy earthy notes, a mix of exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, melon, a little pine, bready slightly biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Lively citrus, grapefruit, orange, lime, and lemon, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, gooseberry, apricot, peach, passion fruit, pineapple, melon, papaya, and white grape, resinous pine, earthy grassy faintly herbal notes, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, somewhat soft on the palate.
O: It's nice and soft, and pretty well balanced, but I'm just not loving how this hop trio came together. I think the earthy side of the Galaxy is kinda muddying the waters. Without that, if it were brighter, I'd definitely like it a lot more.
