Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received: Nov. 23, 2022
Consumed: Dec. 6, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Untappd description for this one was a “DDH Foggy IPA (7%) with Citra, Centennial, Cashmere & Simcoe.”
Poured a medium golden foggy (always foggy with Humble Sea) color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy layered lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Centennial, lime, pine, lemon, herbal, menthol, Citra, Cashmere, caramel and orange peel. About as good from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste wasn’t quite as good. In order got Centennial, lime, pine, lemon, herbal, menthol, Cashmere, caramel, Citra, grapefruit rind, orange peel, onion, garlic, lingering Simcoe and black pepper. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Very good overall but not as good as the usual Humble Sea offerings. (Overall - 3.75)
