DDH WC IPA with Citra, Simcoe, Centennial & Chinook
The West Coast version of our beloved Socks. Meant to be dry, crispy, and bitter vs the softer approach to Foggy Socks. Same hop bill but in a different IPA style for a nice change of pace to OG Socks.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $20 for three Humble Sea beers (part of $80 monthly deal for three 4-packs)
From: Humble Sea Brewing Company in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received: Oct. 25, 2022
Consumed: Nov. 2, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 6, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Untappd description for this one was a “West Coast IPA double dry hopped with Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, and Chinook.”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see a few bubble streams coming up from the sides and bottom of the glass. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled big Simcoe, berry, onion, garlic, cat piss, mango, pine, papaya, Citra, grapefruit rind, pineapple, lime, Centennial and lingering black pepper. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste was not as good as the nose but still solid. Still got big Simcoe, black pepper, pine, onion, garlic, cat piss, papaya, mango, Citra, grapefruit peel, light pineapple and dry Centennial. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Smooth, but slightly bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was outstanding. Glad I got a can. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours a pale straw yellow with a finger of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with plenty of lacing. Faint grain aroma, a bit astringent. Crisp. Taste follows nose.

West coast version of their flagship IPA. Light and crisp with a bubble gum sweet note on the back end. Some bitterness. Easy sipping. I love the concept of sibling beers here.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a six sample flight. It poured a clear golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had good bitter citrus and pine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. There was bitter citrus fruit and pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
