Untappd description for this one was a “West Coast Pale Ale w/ Simcoe & Strata.” Was looking forward to that hop combo.
Poured a light amber clear color with three fingers of frothy white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled caramel, Simcoe, pine, resin, black pepper, garlic, grain, earthy malt and toffee. More chewy caramel from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted much better than the nose. Just a classic West Coast Pale Ale. In order got Simcoe, chewy caramel, toffee, pine, dank resin, black pepper, garlic, earthy grain, earthy malt, baked wheat bread, papaya and hints of citrus rind. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Chewy, abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)
