Our Gose-Inspired Farmhouse Ale brewed with Connecticut grown wheat and barley and fermented in stainless steel. Thoughtful additions of sea salt, coriander, and citrus are made along the way. After primary fermentation, Leeway was given time to further develop in one of our oak foeders before bottling and bottle-conditioning.

Cloudy golden straw color with a massive white head.
Aromas of coriander, lemon juice, grapefruit, orange rind and wheat.
Flavor has a lot of citrus; namely grapefruit and lemon with a touch of lime. Coriander follows with some sea salt and funk. Interesting.
Feel is light bodied with good carbonation.
Overall this is a great and rather unique beer. Has all the elements of both a saison and a gose, yet isn't muddled.

Batch 5
Appearance: Pours a somewhat hazy goldenstraw with a one finger head which fades a bit too rapidly; spotty lacing
Smell: Funky lemon, sour wheat, sea salt and coriander
Taste: Sour wheat and tart lemon forward with the sea salt and coriander developing; growing sourness into the finish; funk in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: More of a Gose than a Saison to my tastebuds but this beer packs plenty of flavor

12 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours a very light and not-quite-clear yellow with a quickly fading head. Aroma and flavor feature citrus (lime up front), oak tannins, light funk, coriander, salt, wheat, and a hint of saison yeast esters. Spritzy, light-but-not-watery mouthfeel. Overall, I thought this was a much tastier beer than the mandarin version.

Pours murky, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is funk, lemon and sea salt. Light bodied, funky with high carbonation. Interesting beer that is a gose/saison mix and captures the best of both styles. Really clean. A joy to drink.

Batch 1. Light, and mostly clear yellow color. Very effervescent, with plenty of fizzy white head that doesn't last long, but is consistent for what I would expect from the style. Smell is very nice. Similar base aroma to their core Freckled Fields beer, but with a really nice layer of lemony citrus mixed in. Aroma certainly hints that this will be a clean, crisp and tart beer. This ended up largely being the case, although it was slightly less tart than I expected. This is a very tasty beer and largely follows the nose. A well done farmhouse, with a dose of citrus makes this a very, very easy drinking beer. I think I'm picking up the sea salt, although that may be the power of suggestion. Can't pick out the coriander. Tiniest bit of funk in the aftertaste. Great summer / warm weather beer.
