An Imperial Pale Lager, is hit with copious amounts of American hops like Simcoe, Centennial, and Columbus. Our IPL is made in a style that crosses into the boundaries of both traditional lager and hoppy pale ale. Lager yeast, cold ferment, a simple grain bill, and American hops to bring along almost west coast pale ale notes of pine, lemon citrus and notes or orange and light stone fruits, all finishing with a snappy, slightly bitter finish.

Can purchased at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a golden clear orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This doesn’t smell like a whole lot – some citrus and breadiness, but it’s not a super evocative thing here.
I usually like Aurora lot, and I don’t even dislike this one, but it feels a bit lost. It’s got a big hop character, but the hop character itself is not super distinct – just kind of bitter. There’s some malt sweetness, but not really enough to balance out the bitterness. As the beer warms slightly, the maltiness becomes stronger, and sweeter, but not in a good way.
This is medium bodied, maybe a bit too thick for a lager that’s 6.5% ABV.
This didn’t fully work for me.
