Had on tap at Frisco Taphouse in Crofton. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma and flavor are quite complex: bready malt, hint of smoke, molasses, dates, oak, earthy hops, probably some other stuff I can't remember. Interesting. Would definitely have it again.

So I honestly didn’t know what an Adambier was until a few weeks ago (still nog exactly clear) so it’s pretty cool that I found this one at Half Time when went to NY this week. The style isn’t even listed on BA ffs. From my understanding, it’s a strong, smoky, and slightly sour beer. Let’s pop it open and see what it’s all about

Pours a murky light brown with 2 fingers iof light tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

The smoke is definitely present in the nose though not overbearing, and it kinda reminds me of a Barleywine. I'm picking up on aromas of sweet toffee, oak smoke, toast, sweet vanilla, medjool dates, caramel, and light molasses

There's a bit more smoke and just a general weirdness in taste, but it still feels like a riff on an English Barleywine. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting beechwood smoke, caramel malt, orange zest, peppery hops, and light raisin. The swallow brings notes of sweet toffee, rich molasses, brown bread, light beechwood smoke, earthy hops, orange marmalade, and an odd touch of mint

A light medium body pairs with gentle airy carbonation, resulting in a silky beer. Finishes off dry with a slight funk

Despite the historical style, I wouldn't really call this unique. It's just like an English BW with a bit extra. Then again, maybe it's because this is my first of the style. No matter what it is, it's good

This has a sort of light rauschbier vibe, with some oaky tannins, maybe a hint of…cider?…with an ale sort of base. It’s really good. All balanced very well, though I can’t compare it to the style due to my ignorance of the style!
