This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like rich and perfectly sweet toasted coconut, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and roasted malt.
The barrel aged Awesome Jenkins series is always a treat for me, and this continues the trend for me. There’s a very rich coconut character, but it’s well balanced and doesn’t add too much undue sweetness. There’s still a lot of barrel here, caramel, vanilla, char, and a good oaky spice. There’s a rich milk and dark chocolate note as well, with a very pleasant roasted malt note.
This is pretty thick, but not boozy at all, with a really nice drinkability.
This is right down the middle for how I want my barrel aged pastry stouts – rich and decadent, without devolving into ridiculousness.

2021 500ml bottle poured cellar temp to a tulip glass. Deep, dark mahogany color with a small, tight head. Lightly coated with the crystalline flecks of fresh coconut. Aroma is excellent, with a huge waft of dark malts and fresh coconut. First sips are everything you could want from this, perfectly blended. Subtle but noticeable bourbon cutting through the heavy malt base of the stout, with a hint of sweetness and dryness from the coconut. Mouthfeel is perfect. Heavy, creamy, lingering flavors. Alcohol has a little bite, cutting the heaviness nicely, and gives one hell of a wallop by the end. Thin Man is killing it with their recent batches of BBA Awesome Jenkins. Rotating bourbon distiller barrels among the same base stout is a stout drinker's fantasy come true. You really get to taste how each bourbon brings its profile to the beer. Keeping the adjuncts simple follows that same principle. I happened to have the Other Half 8th Anniversary stout just before this: neck and neck IMO. Considering Thin Man’s is $8 less, it’s Thin Man for the win!
