Had this one on tap at the source in Auburn. Marzen beer pours Marzen amber. Good clarity. 1/2" off white head. Its a good looking beer.

Mild caramel fall leaf bready notes aroma-wise as per requisite for style. Loving you isn't the right thing to do.

Taste pushes along the same lines, no faults, just an easy going smoothness all around aroma/taste/mouthfeel. Hint of bitterness and toasty breadiness. Nice light stickiness on the lips evocative of the smallest hint of maple, much like Kim's. . . . uh yeah. Well carbonated. Good amount of levity to it despite the appearance. Not heavy thick viscosity stuff.

Seemed like a decently executed beer. Haven't seen it packaged although it appears to exist that way, would pick up a 4 pack if I came across it. September/October on the river would seem fitting for this beer. It was a nice change of pace from Moonraker's usual (but awesome) selection of 20 hoppy beers on tap. Gotta keep the lights on.

Canned on 9/15/2022; consumed on 1/11/2023

Pours a crystal-clear, deep browned copper body topped with multiple fingers of soapy, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a wavy half-finger of cap, large, frothy collar, and modest array of webby/spotty lacing spread haphazardly along the walls of the glass.

Aroma offers a fruity ester backbone beneath caramel and tinges of brown toast upfront as a subtle, toasted malt accent develops to mild nuttiness.

Taste brings brown toast sporting cherry esters to contrast a slight malt char as a vague brown sugar backing through the mid-palate feeds into tones of black bread crust and a hint of cola on the back end.

Mouthfeel features a medium-light body and a spritzy, moderate carbonation, steadily drying with a brief spark over the mid-palate into a refreshing malt prickle through the back end.

Flighty and veering nondescript, a lackadaisical overall presentation results in a very average, if entirely drinkable Märzen.
