Indi’s Gold is a Belgian-Style Petite Saison finished with Indi’s Gold Black Tea from Young Mountain Tea Company. Young Mountain, of Eugene Oregon, works directly with the best tea growers in India to import some of the finest teas grown in Asia. Indi’s Gold is named for the grower, Indi Khanna. The tea is spicy, bright and fruity. This hazy beer is mildly fruity with a clove note. Indi’s gold is dry and crisp with a hint of earthiness and a touch of citrus on the finish.

i have been impressed with all of the alesong stuff so far, and this is another good one. a little more of a classic style, not so wild, but a very well made saison with an awesome spicy yeast profile but still a very delicate overall nature and also quite subtle on the black tea thats in here too, bitter and earthy, maybe a little of that soft floral element you get in loose leaf tea before you brew it, but it blends seamlessly into the flavor profile of the saison yeast, just super will integrated, not divergent until the end where the yeast shows peppery and even cardamom type spice and the tea brings the herbal bitterness, but thats real late. so often i see tea used in beer to cover up fermentation flaws, nice to see it used in a base beer thats this near perfect, really does something special in here. a fluffy and fuller wheaty body here, a slightly bigger and toasted grain element, but high carbonation and dryness to keep it light and lively and majorly drinkable. the tea is the most obvious in the first few sips, but the palate adjusts quickly, and its harder and harder to pick out specifically the more i drink of it, it just seems to be there naturally, not forced or anything, and in perfect proportion. i have been stoked on all of their stuff so far, this is another awesome one, they should bottle it too!
