a new dry hopped saison from these guys, and much to my surprise, its kind of underwhelming. definitely the least complex and captivating of their beers i have had so far, they have all been epic until now. this is fine beer, a little fuller bodied and fruitier than a lot of them, but without a lot of wheat malt flavor, a really simple and clean yeast profile that leaves a little bit to be desired, and the hops, which taste fresh but subtle to me, mandarina bavaria, but kind of muted in their freshness and pungency. some mandarin type citrus, a honey floral note, wet cardboard box, and soft wheat, its simple and sort of bigger feeling, with the alcohol warming it up a little bit and the carbonation quite relaxed. more hops would really make this, but it could be dried out a bit too i reckon. its well made beer, they probably always will be from these guys, but this one seems a bit safer than the others. one of the first i have seen on draft too, but not as good as the ones i have had from the bottle. if you like them subtle and mild, especially on the yeast side of things, give this one a shot. for me it felt incomplete a little bit, as good as it is...
