A full bodied Double IPA with notes of citrus peel, peach, and light pine in the aroma. The flavor follows suit with an up front fruity sweetness that fades into a slightly bitter finish.

Poured from undated can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It's a murky, dirty tangerine color with a huge, egg-white head and thick, creamy lacing. A very nice New England appearance. It has a fragrant, fruity nose featuring lemon, lime, pineapple, tangerine, and ripe melon. The taste follows with sweet tropical fruit and peach pith and stone fruit from the Mosaic and El Dorado hops. But it's the Nelson that shines here with its signature dry white wine and pine notes. Some brewers who lead with Nelson tend to overdo it but Cushwa shows a deft hand. The flavors are there but they're gentle, although It finishes with some hop burn particularly as it warms. The balance of sweet and bitter is excellent. The mouth feel is great, as well - plush and creamy with appropriate carbonation, and the 8% ABV is just right - you can have a second pour (I did) without issue. Overall, despite the name I think this NEIPA reflects what Cushwa must have intended because it's first rate.

16 oz pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Pours a cloudy yellow/orange with a greenish-grayish hue; not the most attractive color. Decent head, retention, and lacing. Aroma and flavor feature dank citrus and tropical fruit with a hint of grassiness. Nice malt backbone and the 8.1% abv is well-hidden. Not boozy or cloying. Mouthfeel is smooth and well-rounded. Overall a solidly above-average (D)NEIPA.
