Time to warm up those pipes, cause we’re coming at you blasting a new banger. Gummy Frontman is a DIPA rocking out with Citra, Mosaic, and Strata. These three jamming hops lend to a face melting tropical aroma. The flavor turns into a chorus of white gummy bears. The mouthfeel is soft, with a low bitterness playing in harmony to round out this track. We’re excited to share this new smash hit with you!

Like gummy bears? You've found your match here as this was quite like those, but in liquid form. All of the hops were nicely balanced here as this was easily enjoyable for it's heft and nicely balanced for an IPA at the same time, without a lot of overt bitterness.

Enjoyed the pour to this as this had a dark, goldenrod hue to it that was uniformly topped off with plenty of soapy foam. Thick and deep rings of lacing remained on my pint glass as the liquid was topped off by a sufficient remnant of the head throughout my time with this. Lots of strawberry patch, gummy lemon, candied sugar, and herbal undertones in the nose as the taste was quite sweet, dank, and plush - all at the same time!

A bit of white grape and stickiness stuck around in the aftertaste as this went down quite easily, as the lingering feeling that stuck with me was that of a (theoretical) sweet white wine. The only attribute that I'd change about this was the lack of a date on the bottom of the can, although this felt and tasted fresh. This was lovely as the gummy aspect was not overpowering with the end result being a brew that was new to me and not a gimmick. If only all beers kept the hops in balanced with each other!

Upon first pour, very hazy and carbonated. Smells tropical and pleasant with these citra, mosaic and strata hops.

Not too hoppy, very low on the bitterness end with 35 IBU. It’s easily crushable and drinkable at 8.0% abv which is something to be mindful of. Overall, very delicious and sessionable IPA.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft, fluffy head.

Smell is juicy and slightly herbal with notes of citrus and melon. A bit sweet and dank.

Taste is juicy and sweet with a bit of an herbal hint. Notes of citrus, melon and gummy candy with some dank hints. Soft bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy with good carbonation.

Overall, an excellent NE DIPA, deceptively easy to drink.

13 oz pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a large fluffy off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma and flavor feature sweet tropical fruit, citrus, and soft wheat with a hint of bitter candied citrus peel. Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, and hides the 8% abv well. Overall it's a solid if not exactly memorable (D)NEIPA.

Cushwa Brewing Co. "Gummy Frontman"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating.
$4.79 @ State Line Liquors, Elkton, MD

Notes via stream of consciousnes: NEIPA with Citra, Mosaic, and Strata hops at 8.0% ABV. This one is just as murky as the last one I tried from Cushwa (Karmic Event). It's really too much in my opinion, but the protein is nice in that it gives it a great smooth feel in the mouth, and it helps to hold alpha acids from the hops. It's golden in color and the head is a full cap of rocky white foam. The aroma is resinous, "dank", softly piney, and fruity with berries, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and passion fruit. That's a beautiful aroma! On to the taste... it's just as strong and bright. Everything in the aroma remains along with additional notes of white grape, strawberry, nectarine, mango, pear, apple, and pomegranate. The bitterness is moderate but stiff, and there's lots of hop burn to it from the residual acids. Ahh, now I get the name, it tastes like a white gummy bear (pineapple). Yeah, this is good stuff, It's nicely balanced and rounded, full of flavor and complexity, and highly drinkable. In the mouth it's medium bodied and zesty but then smooth due to all of the extra proteins. Not unlike their "Karmic Event", the further I get into it the more the bitterness and hop acids build and the 'drier' it becomes. It finishes with a little burn, some residual fruit, and a lot of resinous and herbal character. I can go for more of this!
