Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $21.99 for a mixed 4-pack
From: North Park Beer Company in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: April 7, 2021
Consumed: April 16, 2021
Misc.: Canned on March 30, 2021
Snuck over to North Park to grab a mixed 4-pack of new releases from the past couple weeks. Had been wanting to try this for a long time, missing the first drop last October. North Park’s website called it “We're batting 1000 with our latest DDH West Coast IPA, WIN THE WEST! Playing with an all-star roster of Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial, and Columbus hops created loads of deep forest pine, bright floral notes, and lemon & tangerine citrus. San Diego has a new rallying cry! WIN.THE.WEST!”
Poured a pale yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. Excellent-to-world-class foamy layered lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Simcoe, dank resin, pine, black pepper, garlic, onion, Centennial, lime, tangerine rind, Columbus, earthy malt and light Mosaic. Much better from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Got Simcoe, dank resin, pine, black pepper, garlic, onion, Columbus, lime, Centennial, tangerine rind, earthy malt, blueberry, purple grape and light Mosaic. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Another good offering from North Park. Excellent. (Overall - 4.00)

Illegible dated can into imperial nonic pint.
L: Vibrant golden with 1 finger of white variable density head with good retention and left limited lacing.
S: Great nose, floral, tropical fruit and pine. Lots of dimension that played well together.
T: Follows nose well, but with more prominence of the pine aspects. Finishes with moderate bitterness, lingers pleasantly on the palate.
F: Low-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, slick on the tongue and swallow.
O: A well executed WCIPA that does a great job meshing some historical 'C' hops with some more recent hop varieties. The flavors and aromas have great depth and the edges are soft. Another great beer from NPBC, yet to find something average from them.
