Some things just never go out of style... Chuck Taylors, Levi's Jeans, Hard Rock, and Dank AF West Coast IPAs! We joined forces with our old pal Julian Shrago of Beachwood Brewing to create this dank masterpiece. We pushed the malt off to the side and kept this one squarely focused on the hops. Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, and Simcoe? Obviously bruh! But what about some Pahto and Pahto Cryo? What's Pahto, you ask? Well, it just so happens to be a total piney and dank beast of a hop! We topped it all off with a big charge of Strata, you know... for good measure. The result is a balance of passion fruit, evergreen forest, and righteous dankness with some undertones of blueberry and grapefruit zest. Delicious, dry, and dank! What more could you ask for? Get it!

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: North Park 16.5-oz. Munique glass
Price: $4.67 w/ 10 pct. off because of a mixed 6-pack) (regular $5.19)
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 31, 2020
Consumed: Jan. 5, 2021
Misc.: Collab with Beachwood; Canned on Dec. 22, 2020
Bought this and a bunch of other stuff on New Year’s Eve. North Park’s website read “Our buddy, Julian, knows a thing or two about beer styles AND style. Check out our latest Collab with Beachwood Brewing. Rocking loads of Simcoe & Mosaic. We took this brew to eleven with super high doses of bittering hops, double dry-hopping it with Pahto, Pahto Cryo, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo & Strata!!! And it is crystal clear, just like a West Coast IPA should be!! Perfectly in style. FOREVER IN STYLE!” Had to look up Pahto, but the hop profile calls for herbal, earthy and floral.
Poured a clear medium yellow color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. Excellent spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled big Simcoe, black pepper, onion, garlic, pine, dank resin, Mosaic, floral, rose blossom, grapefruit and hints of wafer cookie. A little better out of the can with more earthy Simcoe notes. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose initially, but got better each sip. Got big Simcoe, black pepper, onion, garlic, pine, resin, Mosaic, rose blossom, floral, red grapefruit, mango, passion fruit and a little bit of Strata. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, spicy finish. Super smooth. (Feel - 4.50)
Was back and forth on a few of the categories, but this one really grew on me as it went down. This was excellent. (Overall - 4.25)

Pours a clear straw color. 1 finger fluffy white head. Retention is good, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose has got a nice tropical aroma to it. Pineapple, mango, grapefruit.
Taste - Like the nose, there's a mellow pineapple, mango and grapefruit flavor. Smooth and mellow. Doesn't hit too hard, but lets you know it's there.
The body is decent. There's a bit of stickiness to this beer.
Solid West Coast IPA.

Beachwood and North Park together like Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras doing doubles. But nah, it’s not that great. West Coast all over the place like a Baja fish taco with a lil white sauce, but not the best. More like Wahoo’s and less authentic like a hole in the wall joint. Again, it’s really West Coast, but there also is a lil onion in the end like putting some on your ice cream sunday - not into that.
Peace!
