Won this pastry stout collab with Moksa back in February. Untappd’s description was “Velvet Nougat Imperial Stout aged in Blanton's barrels for 24 months and conditioned with toasted almonds, cacao nibs, and Veracruz vanilla beans.”
Poured a pitch black color with 1-to-2 fingers of dark khaki-tan frothy head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled pretty damn good right away. In order got milk chocolate, caramel, Milky Way candy bar, cacao, vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate syrup and toffee. Just as good out of the bottle with some more cacao/cocoa notes. (Smell - 4.50)
Damn. The Taste was just as good, maybe better. Crazy smooth for 17.9 pct. ABV. In order got milk chocolate, caramel, Milky Way candy bar, vanilla, marshmallow, almonds, cacao, toffee, chocolate syrup and hints of honey. (Taste - 4.50)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Damn. This one was a banger and so damn smooth for 17.9 pct. Just a world-class pastry stout. (Overall - 4.50)
