Collaboration with Alvarado Street.
We had so much fun making beer with our friends from Alvarado Street that we had to brew up another one with them while they were visiting! This time we decided to cook up something hazy and juicy, and that is how “Hops&Thiols&Chit.” DDH Hazy DIPA was conceived. Using Berkeley “Tropics” in combination with a massive amount of Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Citra Incognito, Nelson Sauvin and HBC 586, this dank and dieselly haze boi is packing delicious tasting notes of pink grapefruit, tropical mango, pulpy orange juice and Hawaiian punch. This beer certainly lives up to its namesake and we could not be more proud of how it turned out!

Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $24.00 for a 4-pack
From: North Park Beer Company in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: March 28, 2022
Consumed: March 30, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with Alvarado Street; Canned on March 22, 2022
Grabbed a 4-pack of this one and another collab with Alvarado Street on a trip to North Park for Darin’s 40th birthday. Gave a 10-oz. pour of this a 4.25 on Untappd and wrote “Lovely collab with Alvarado Street. Need to focus on this beer later.” I remember thinking it may have been better but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind of rate accordingly with everything going on. North Park’s website called it “We had so much fun making beer with our friends from Alvarado Street that we had to brew up another one with them while they were visiting! Poured a light golden hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled that HBC 586 right away. Also Mosaic, Nelson, Citra, passion fruit, Hawaiian Fruit Punch, mango, coconut, red grapefruit, papaya and guava. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted pretty damn good. Wow. In order got Mosaic, HBC 586, passion fruit, Hawaiian Fruit Punch, Nelson, mango, guava, red grapefruit, Simply Tropical Juice, papaya, pineapple and coconut. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Damn. This beer was terrific. So much better with more focus. (Overall - 4.50)

Sweet tropical hoppy, fruity pebbles, orange citrus, and hint of Nelson-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with sweet and candied tropical fruits and a subdued hoppy bitter finish. The HBC 586 hops are too dominant here IMO...it overshadowed the otherwise outstanding hop profile. Also, the color on this one looks a bit off and it is not as soft/murky as I was expecting. Still enjoyable to drink, but falls short for a collab with two outstanding breweries.
