Collaboration with Alvarado Street
For our latest West Coast IPA, we teamed up with our good buddies from Alvarado Street and it is “Mai” pleasure to present “Flamingo-Fu!” DDH WCIPA with Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Citra Incognito, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe Cryo and Citra Cryo. We ended up with the “Tai” when trying to figure out our favorite beers from each spot, so rather than “Hop” through hoops we decided to mash them up! Tropical fruit, bright blueberry, juicy strawberry and citrusy orange tasting notes take your tastebuds on a flavor packed vacation. We love how this one turned out and we are super stoked that J.C. and Biggie helps us keep West Coast IPA alive!

Type: 16-oz. can

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (air) glass
Price: $21.00 for a 4-pack
From: North Park Beer Company in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: March 28, 2022
Consumed: March 30, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with Alvarado Street; Canned on March 22, 2022
Grabbed a 4-pack of this one and another collab with Alvarado Street on a trip to North Park for Darin’s 40th birthday. Gave a full 16-oz. pour of this a 4.00 on Untappd, but it was my third beer and came after another North Park West Coast IPA (Dank Before Dying) that kind of did my taste buds in. North Park’s website called this beer “For our latest West Coast IPA, we teamed up with our good buddies from Alvarado Street and it is “Mai” pleasure to present “Flamingo-Fu!” DDH WCIPA with Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Citra Incognito, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe Cryo and Citra Cryo. Poured a medium yellow clear color with three fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class uneven foamy-to-foggy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Mosaic, mixed berry, floral, orange, peach, mango, Nelson, Citra, grapefruit and some pineapple. Better out of the can with even more citrusy orange notes. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Simcoe came out on the tongue though. In order got Mosaic, mixed berry, orange, peach, floral, spicy Simcoe, black pepper, Nelson, tangerine, Citra, grapefruit, some pineapple and mango. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, smooth finish. So smooth for a West Coast IPA. (Feel - 5.00)
This one grew on me each sip. Glad I tried this first tonight. (Overall - 4.25)

Sweet tropical hoppy and subdued piney hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows with a hoppy and piney bitter finish. This is crushable and clean, but nothing stands out enough or makes itself known in the aromatics or on the palate. I'll sit on a few cans and revisit to see if it develops more, as this was extremely fresh at the time I had this. Easy drinking...
