We sat down with our good buddies from Mortalis Brewing to talk about life and before we knew it, we were talking about brewing up a beer, thus “Unknown Origin” was born, a TDH Hazy DIPA with Bru-1, Bru-1 Lupomax, Citra, Citra Incognito and Freestyle Nelson. Bursting with tasting notes of white grape, dieselly dankness, dole fruit cup and strawberry pineapple juice, the origin of this full-bodied elixir may be unknown, but one thing we do know is we love how it turned out and we love making beers with our hop buddies from Rochester.

Grabbed a 4-pack of this on a recent trip to North Park Beer Co. North Park’s website called it “We sat down with our good buddies from Mortalis Brewing to talk about life and before we knew it, we were talking about brewing up a beer, thus “Unknown Origin” was born, a TDH Hazy DIPA with Bru-1, Bru-1 Lupomax, Citra, Citra Incognito and Freestyle Nelson. Poured a medium golden hazy color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles streaming up along the sides of the glass. World-class uneven spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Nelson, tangerine, peach blossom, stone fruit, white grape, pineapple, orange, strawberry, Citra, red grapefruit and citrus zest. Got some earthy pilsner malt from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better than the nose. In order got Nelson, peach blossom, stone fruit, tangerine, pineapple, white grape, orange, Citra, red grapefruit, strawberry, passion fruit, guava, citrus zest, hints of peppery spice and some earthy malt. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy, dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)

This was really good. Underrated this slightly overall but can’t wait to have another one. (Overall - 4.50)

Sweet tropical hoppy, white wine grape, and orange-tangerine citrus-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a juicy-soft, orange citrus hoppy and tropical fruity hoppy, mildly bitter finish. Some fruity pebbles vibes on the backend caught me by surprise with this one...maybe the Bru-1? To be TDH'd, this is drinking really good out the gate! The juiciness and bitterness are very well-balanced here. This is great!!
