Glass: North Park 16-oz. Willi Becher glass
Price: $16 for a 4-pack
From: North Park Beer Company in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 9, 2022
Consumed: Nov. 9, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Nov. 1, 2022; Split (2/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/4)
Picked up a 4-pack of this and three others on release day at North Park. North Park’s website called this “Close your eyes, take a sip, and transport your tastebuds to a Bavarian Biergarten with NP Pils, our newest Barvarian-Style Pils! Poured a straw-to-pale yellow clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky off-white head. Could see bubbles coming up from the sides and bottom of the glass but not that many and not that fast. Good spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Noble hops, wheat bread, tangerine, dry grass and lingering peppery spice. Even better from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted just as good as the nose. In order got Czech Saaz, black pepper, Noble hops, Wheat Thins, wheat bread, tangerine, bitter dry grass, floral, rose blossom, hints of spoiled fruit, honey, cinnamon and trash (for the haters). (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Damn. Really liked this pilsner. (Overall - 4.25)

Sweet bready-biscuity, bran cereal, and hint of old-school, lemon-spice hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows with a honey-caramel brown bread malty and a balanced, lemon-herbal hoppy finish. This is so clean and refreshing...and, judging to style, this everything I want a German Pils to be. Outstanding Pils!
