Glass: North Park 9-oz. butterscotch snifter glass
Price: $27 for a 4-pack
From: North Park Beer Company in North Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 24, 2022
Consumed: Nov. 27, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with The Eighth State; Canned on Nov. 15, 2022; Split (2/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/4)
Picked up a 4-pack of this for Sonny, Kevin and I while out with Rachel. This one sounded delightful. North Park’s website description was “Behold! Our first canned stout! Poured a pitch black color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy-to-fizzy khaki-tan head. Could see some bubbles coming up the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Was initially surprised by the smell. It instantly reminded me of North Park’s Tikicito, a Berliner Weissbier I gave a 4.38 back on July 10, 2020. It got a little better as it went down. In order got vanilla, coconut, pineapple, milk chocolate, Mounds candy, chocolate syrup and caramel. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted better than the nose. This was nice. In order got vanilla, coconut, Mounds candy, hints of pineapple and Piña colada, milk chocolate syrup, caramel and Samoas Girl Scouts cookie. Super smooth for 9.5 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Not quite as good as I hoped but still super good. Tasty and it hits the spot. (Overall - 4.25)

Sweet milk chocolate with creamy nougat, prominent coconut, and hint of vanilla nose on this one! Taste follows with a soft and creamy, milk chocolate and vanilla-coconut finish. Yum! This is a tasty and well-balanced oatmeal stout!
