Collaboration with Moksa
Blanton's Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout finished in a Bourbon Barrel that previously aged Lost Cause Meadery's "Dial M for Murderousness" (a cherry, blackberry & raspberry caramelized honey mead with grape brandy & almonds). Collaboration with Moksa Brewing.

Snuck over to North Park to have a West Coast IPA I’d been wanting to try and this. Missed out on the bottle so was happy to get to have a taster of it, even if it was $12. Ordered it at the same time so that it was close to proper temperature. Untappd description was “Blanton's Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout finished in a Bourbon Barrel that previously aged Lost Cause Meadery's "Dial M for Murderousness" (a cherry, blackberry & raspberry caramelized honey mead with grape brandy & almonds). Poured a pitch-black color (missed the head since I waited so long to have it). Pretty calm setting underneath with not a lot of bubbles. Outstanding spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled milk chocolate, sugary brandy barrel, caramel, coconut, almond, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, baker’s chocolate, toasted marshmallow, purple grape, plum and crayon. This was complex on the nose. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste was not as good as the nose. Got milk chocolate, sugary brandy barrel, almond, honey (much more than the nose), caramel, vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, nutmeg, baker’s chocolate, toasted marshmallow, purple grape, plum, cherry/raspberry late (lovely, not in the nose) and blackberry. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
This was outstanding overall. Not sure it was worth that price point ($2.40/oz.) but still glad I tried it. (Overall - 4.25)
