Looks and drinks like some sort of smoothie. Moderate head, some early lace. Settles to a ring. Opaque ruddy red. It's pretty much a muddle. Mixed berry aroma dominated by strawberries, same to taste, but with notes of raspberry and blackberry. A little sharp on the palate, slightly watery. Tasty enough, not really beery, but still a fair radler.

355 mL can from the LCBO, courtesy of their radler mix pack; dated Mar 18 2021 and served barely chilled.
Pours a murky purplish-burgundy colour, capped with more than a finger of foamy, pink-tinged head that collapses quickly. A modest collar of suds is left behind; it sure looks like a berry radler. Nice blend of citrus and berry on the nose - I'm getting lime juice, apples and raspberry, with hints of strawberry, blackberry, plum and wheaty malts - pretty appealing, actually, although I'm worried it might be too sweet.
That fear didn't pan out - rather, it's got a nice balance between sweetness and tartness. Light strawberry at the forefront, with raspberry juice, lime-ade and lemon coming through shortly thereafter. Hints of apple juice sweetness and grainy malts in the background towards the finish, with raspberry and spicy lime peel dissipating into the aftertaste; tart at first, but then dry. I like that - kind of like a raspberry seed. Light-ish in body, with firm carbonation that feels prickly and crisp on the tongue - not quite as fizzy as soda pop, but it's in that ballpark.
Final Grade: 3.7, a respectable B grade. Ace Hill's portfolio contains no shortage of radlers - some of them are merely alright, some are pretty darn good, maybe even verging on great. Berry Radler is somewhere in between: it's better than many of the other Ontario-made 'berry radler' equivalents, with excellent drinkability that makes for a tart, refreshing, relatively brief quaff. I still don't think it's something I'd really want to drink on a regular basis, but it's definitely worth a try if you have a particular interest in berry/strawberry beers and/or radlers in general.
