not a bad beer at all, and as a belgian golden or something it would even be pretty good, but this is that kind of american saison that basically just uses a warm fermented belgian yeast strain, generic and overly estery, to fill the role of something much more rustic. this is not the kind of saison i like to drink, and it really doesnt scratch the itch in that regard, but when i relax on my standards of what saison is supposed to be and just drink on it as a pint of belgian ale, i like it a lot better. the yeast is samey and maybe a little overdeveloped, but the beer is otherwise delicate and clean and simple, with a very basic pale barley and white wheat type malt base, not much to it, a little floral and nice and dry by the end, if you like the estery belgian yeast strains with little interference from grain, this is a good one for you to try. the carbonation isnt as high as i like with the yeast profile, and it gets a little much when it warms up with the yeast, but overall an easy drinking simple belgian beer, enjoyable once i accept that this is not saison as i like them to be...
