a collaboration with trve. picked up a can of this on a whim because i love cellar west, and was at first stoked to learn this was done with trve, but was then even more stoked to read on the label that it might be the most ambitious craft beer ever put into a can, can conditioned, blended in a coupage style, sour wood aged beer meets clean saison, or something like that, i cant exactly recall, but its a blended brew and has undergone multiple fermentations, pretty heady. seems like it cant possibly be profitable either, but whatever, i was over the moon to find it, and then again to drink it on a park bench with an old homie on a nice sunny denver afternoon! i know i am maybe rating this too highly here, and in fact, thought it was oddly understated, even a little nondescript when we drank it, especially compared to what it says on the can, but the quality is insane and you have to respect the process. i get toasted malt and old world yeast, but nuances of lemongrass and dried herbs, apple and weed, pretzel dough and a sort biere de garde age and european thing. its good and the texture is fire, but i thought it might be more defined. delicious as a drinker, a cool project, and i genuinely appreciate the process. glad we got this, even though if it will be unfortunately lost in the shuffle. this is quality beer no matter what. a treat to share under such special conditions, but this would be money hungover on a monday morning too...
