A collaborative IPA from the Summit Brewing team, Summit Twenty-One features seven different malts and seven different hops, with each of Summit’s seven staff brewers selecting one hop and one malt variety. Offering juicy, citrusy and piney hop aromas and flavors, plus some tropical and fruity notes for good measure, Twenty-One’s dank, vibrant and clean hop-forward profile is balanced by a complementary biscuity malt backbone. Expect assertive bitterness and dry effervescence.

Scrappy notes from 2019. 6 pack of cans.
Clean looking and tasting. A very nice gold color. Lightly dank, some tropical fruit notes, crackery bread crust, pine and signature summit malt base (which makes Summit identifiable). Easy drinking, a bit dryish and very well balanced. Excellent!

Pours a semi clear gloden color. Major foam bomb. 3 finger very frothy white head. The retention is very long lasting. Tons of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. Lots of lacing on the glass.
The nose is hoppy, as expected. I do get a lot of citrus/tropical hops more than pine.
Now the taste is more pine than the nose lets on, but there's the tropical hops on the back up.
The body is somewhat sticky. Thick. Full bodied. The hops cling to my throat.
A decent IPA over all. Not bad.

Really liking this IPA. Lots of citrus and melon, tons of lacing with a sweet taste and a mild hoppy butter finish. Well done Summit.

Pours a clear bright gold yellow with a huge white pillow for a head. Head has staying power and leaves fantastic lacing. Aroma is melons and citrus. Flavor follows the nose, sweet up front with a mild hop bitter finish. Feel is on the light side of medium bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall a nice IPA that's a little on the mild side.

A bit dank, earthy, then citrus aroma. Very tall white thick creamy head from a vigorous pour. Good retention, leaving bubbly lacing behind. Somewhat hazy light amber with plenty of rising bubbles. Smooth initial taste, low bitterness, medium body. Initial taste is dank citrus and melon. Unusual mix of flavors; difficult for me to pick them all out, but it is overall very good. The combination works well together. Hop bitterness begins in the middle and carries through into the aftertaste. Dry finish. Very good, refreshing, and different IPA. Recommended.

Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow, big head.

Smell: Citrusy, bit of dankness.

Taste: Nice citrus bite, some toasted crackers, good sweetness and body, moderately bitter finish.

Overall: Beer #3 from the ratskeller pack. Best so far, a pretty solid old-school IPA with a nice citrus kick and bitterness. I should have grabbed a Saga to compare with this.

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. Etched code on bottle is '81109W2121218'.
Mostly clear, gold colored body. One finger of white head recedes slightly but stays around. Leaves behind an array lacing shapes.
Aroma of citrus, with slight dank. Has a whiff of pine.
Taste is citrus, piney, slightly dank, herbal, and floral. Very slight bitterness at the end.
Medium plus mouth feel. Very good carbonation.
This beers expresses more old school attributes, but is okay in its own way. Quite different from other Summit IPAs. Overall seems soft and approachable.

L-Oak colored...light white head.

S-Not particularly vibrant but still interesting. Peaches, apricots, a hint of spruce.

T-Pine, grapefruit, peaches, apricots. Not bursting with flavor but those are some of the notes I picked up.

F-Medium bodied...nice tight dry bitterness on the finish.

O-An IPA right up my alley and an old school take on it that you don't find very often these days. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Nice looking proper IPA. Smells like an old school IPA that consists of pine and citrus. The hop flavor however, is all over the place. Too much going on. I get pine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, grass, and finishes herbal. The malt does not seem that unusual and it has a dry quality. Nice body and carbonation.

Kind of a clusterf**k of hop flavors, as 7 different brewers all contributed one, resulting in an unorganized mess. But I like it. Dank and piney, citrusy and bold, tropical and fruity - this has it all, and the 7 malts definitely play second fiddle. Very dry.
