473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 30 2020 and served barely chilled.
Pours clear golden-orange, crowned with an inch of puffy, lumpy white head that seeps off over the next ten minutes or so. A creamy quarter-inch cap remains in place indefinitely; its frothy collar is thick and clings to the glass. As for the aroma, I'm getting notes of graininess and doughy, bready pale malts, as well as a few hints of floral, grassy hops and a touch of honeyed sweetness.
Its flavour profile doesn't stray too far beyond that - there's caramelized sugars, bready pale malts and grains dominating at first, though they eventually cede ground to leafy, grassy hops nearer the finish. Light in body, with low carbonation levels and a very smooth mouthfeel, in addition to fantastic drinkability. One of those rare brews that I could drink one after another all evening without ever really getting tired of.
Final Grade: 3.96, a B+. Skeleton Park's Proper English Ale is aptly named - it's a pretty even-handed English pale, with the front end leaning malty, while the subtly tea-leafy, earthy hops clean up towards the back. Notionally reminiscent of Fuller's London Pride, and from me that's extremely high praise, indeed. I will be picking this up again, and would encourage other fans of English-style 'real ales' to take it for spin.

473 ml can from the LCBO. Served cold into a pint glass. Review from notes.
Appearance - Hazy golden brown color. Small half finger of white head that fizzles away quickly.
Smell - Malty, some dark fruits, suggestions of caramel.
Taste - Like the nose, some dark fruits like plu, apple skin contained within and plenty of grainy malts. Intensity isn';t high but that's fine for style.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied, drying finish, carbonation is fairly light but appropriate.
Overall - average English bitter, not particualrly great, but certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at another.
