2021 vintage (Batch 2); consumed on 7/30/2024
Pours a clear, deep golden orange body capped with two fingers of sudsy, off-white foam; solid head retention leaves a paper-thin cap, large, creamy collar, and a limited array of webby lacing holding tentatively to the walls of the glass.
Aromas waft vibrant plum flesh accompanied by ripe white peach undertones; a tinge of minerality supports as delicate, vaguely floral funk proceeds.
Taste offers green apple, lemon, and plum pith upfront, with accents of tangerine zest and a slightly grassy funk advancing past the mid-palate, followed by an oaky lingering into waxy, vinous white wine trails on the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel brings a medium-light body and moderate fluff of carbonation; a taut texture sports acidity on the higher end of moderate, fading gently to steady tartness over the back end.
Plum expressed through semi-sticky pith against almost perfunctory levels of rustic imbuement and a passive, well-oaked white wine underscore; bright and enjoyable, yet a touch one-note.
