Hoppy Yeaster Sunday (2020) to all of my beer & bread peeps! The dough has risen! I am continuing to purge the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody/L'Abbaye de ChANdler while The CANQuest (tm) waits patiently in abeyance. Today will be an admixture of Tavour-procured Bottles (Eeek!) & ones that were locally procured. As I have said before, I have no real beef with Tavour, bit instead with their inflexible local shipper. That & it was all just CANtributing to the massive backlog. If there was a silver lining to the COVID-19 cloud, it is my quarantine with all of this beer to be drank!

I Pop!ped the cap, but being an observant fellow, I noticed a good bit of lees on the kick/punt. This led me to go with a very slow, extremely gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass so as not to rouse the flocculate. I always drink the lees separately. They keep me a regular guy! I got some nice foaming action that formed just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with reasonable retention, slowly falling away with minimal lacing. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). 8=( Did I fail or was it always meant to have at least some haze? Nose smelled like pineapple juice! My maternal grandparents used to buy A&P Unsweetened Hawaiian Pineapple Juice in a No. 3 CAN & it smelled JUST like this! 8=O Not sweet, though. That would be a travesty. The nose had almost a tartness to it. Mmm. Mouthfeel was big, full & creamy, like a dollop had been scooped into my mouth & onto my tongue! The taste was unquestionably unsweetened pineapple with a cool, pine mintiness. Mmm. I was just getting to my transcription of the Hops bill, but I would wager on at least on the PNW Cs - Cascade, Centennial, Chinook. NOTA! Well, now. Aha! Simcoe, the naughty kitty, was involved, which accounts for both the cool pine as well as a light cattiness, especially on the finish. Finish was beautifully dry with a lingering pineapple flavor. It's too bad that they discontinued this one, IMHO. YMMV.

Juicy, pithy, grassy, hoppy goodness. Fully opaque straw color with two finger soapy head. Medium body with a drying and effervescent feel. Lingering flavors of bitter grapefruit and slight alcohol.
