For an American lager this is clearly on another level. Smell, taste, and appearance are unlike any other lager I have had, no sugar notes and no corn present. As well balanced as can be. My only gripe is price. If Russian River can sell six packs of their STS pills why cant these guys? This is begging to be sold at a good price point.

Pours a clear bright yellow with plenty of foam in the Maredsous goblet. Crisp and sudsy on the tongue. Slight malty sweetness and certainly more malty than typical Lagers. Besides the herbal notes there are nteresting flavors of berries. Finishes with a resiny tang and mild but distinct bitter aftertaste.
Hops are listed as Mittelfrueh, Calista, and Saphir. This is quite appealing and more in the hoppy Lager vein. Tastes sort of like a German Oktoberfest, but bolder and reminiscent of a mellower Pilsner. From the 16 oz can purchased from City Beer.
