Good Doppelbock!!!! Poured from a 330ml bottle into a tulip glass, this beer featured a brown color with lots of reddish highlights coming through when held to a light. The head was smallish and light tan with better than average retention and light lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste included slightly sweet maltiness, with some toffee and dark fruit like raisins and plums. Bitterness level was mild. Mouthfeel was fairly rich and malty, somewhat sweet and mildly bitter. Went down real easy!!!

A 330ml, poured into a Nonic.
Dark mahogany/copper color with a generous off white head and lacing.
Malt forward, caramel and dark dried fruit, raisins, prunes, and dark sweet bread with molasses and a hint of ginger that melds well with the hops bitterness aspects.
Medium bodied mouthfeel with rich flavors that mask any booziness well.
A very good Dopplebock.

Dark and hazy reddish-brown under a tan two inch head that fades but leaves plentiful lacing. Aroma of toffee and rich cracker malt with a note of leather. Flavor is sweet and spicy, toffee and pepper over a bready mid. Almost no hops bitterness.

Feel is a bit thinner than expected for a beer that smells and tastes so rich.

Overall, a pleasant surprise coming from this brewery. I'll get this again.

Just found this outstanding beer about 4 months ago. The only negative is that it's seasonal, and I have to wait for more.

330ml bottle. Pours a rich golden brown with a big off-white tight head and lots of lacing. Plummy stone fruit, sweet malty smells. Nice flavors of raisins and prunes and malt that avoids being too sweet with a hoppy tang in the finish.. medium to full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Excellent doppelbock.

From the bottle in a snifter. This excellent doppel pours a darkruby
tinged mahogany with a very nice head of khaki foam that settles to
a thick ring, thick clumping layer, and sports some very nice lacing.
Nose of caramel, brown sugar, dark breaded malts, and raisin notes.
Flavors expand nicely with dark breaded malts, earthy malt, brown
sugar, caramel, raisin bread, and faint dark cherry nuances. Mouth
feel is medium, smooth, subtly creamy, medium light carbonation
that is moderately lively, and a well balanced finish that is moderately
sweet with subtle hop nuances with warmth.

Overall, spot on for the style!

Cheers

330mL bottle pours a hazy medium-to-dark brown with lots of floaters and a short, dense cap of tan-colored head that fades down to an uneven thing sudsy layer with some lacing. Smells of brown bread, syrup, molasses, warm spices, dried fruit, and a hint of booze. Relatively restrained flavor of rich bread, candied fruit, warm spices, caramel, citrus, molasses, with a hint of alcohol flavor and appreciable alcohol heat. Full-bodied, moderate sweetness, subtle bitterness, smooth, slightly sudsy mouthfeel, long finish that moves between spice, bitterness, alcohol heat, and finally sweetness.

This was a really damn good Doppelbock. I am absolutely over the moon for the "Korbinian" offering from Weihenstephan, and I have to say this is my second favorite I have tried thus far. The Doppelbock style seems to lean aggressively on alcohol heat, alcohol flavor, and syrupy flavor/mouthfeel in most of the examples I've tried, and I really haven't enjoyed any of those. This one is rich but delicate, and a perfectly balanced treat of a beer. Will be buying again.

Pours a ruddy & effervescent Chestnut with 2 fingers of tan head. Below average head retention & better lacing

S: Brown sugar, brown bread, some caramel once warmer

T: Follows the nose some woody & leafy hops as well, plus gingerbread notes up front. Some molasses, leafy hops, faint peppery ginger & dryness as this beer warms up. Finishes dry with woody hops, gingerbread notes & brown sugar

MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation, hoped for a little more body

Solid Doppel, decent drinkability
