Sometimes the simple things in life are the best. We take Pilsner malt from Germany and Belgium and combine with three traditional hop varieties – Magnum, Perle and Hallertauer Mittelfruh – to produce a clean, unfiltered, Hop Bitter Lager Beer.

440ml can served in a hotel glass in Mizonokuchi. Date on the can is 2025-09-25. Appears to be "best before". Don't remember where I picked this up, but it wasn't that long ago.
Pours slightly hazy friendly yellow amber with a medium sized dense head and lots of carbonation. Smell is very grainy, a little grass, maybe a slight wet wood note. Maybe something floral in the background, too.
Taste is more on the bitter side than the aroma suggested, but that's not a bad thing at all, particularly since all the grainy notes are still there. Grass comes out fairly powerfully, lemon has a definite presence that seems to have transmuted from the hint of floral aroma.
Mouthfeel is very light, very crisp. Overall, very nice beer to drink.

Slightly hazy lager look with a retentive peaked white head. Very bready on the nose and tongue, with a pleasant hint of yeasty sweetness towards the end.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 4.8%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts and grassy, herbal and floral hops. Crisp flavour, a decent and well hopped pilsener.

L- Rested and well chilled then poured gently as usual, but an ultra-fast to form foam head means I haven't managed to get more that say 50ml of beer in the glass before it risked overflowing - pour with care! From what I can see so far it's pale straw, slightly hazy and as said has a relatively monumental white pillowy head.
S- Slightly bright, but hard to divine anything else through 10Cm of foam. The bottle gives a slightly citrus note. Hmmm.
T- Bright, hoppy-dry, the hops give a vibrant zingy brush across my tongue and palate. Sufficient malts follow in the background to bring balance.
F- 'Medium dry'. Hops forward, refreshing, perfect for a hot summers day. Veeery good carbonation.
O- Very pleasant, clean, nothing objectionable unless someone might object to a beer taking 10mins to pour due to it being so highly carbonated hehe. Would I drink it again - absolutely. Would I buy it again at the price = that's a possibly, there are many other superb beers that can be had for less, though this is something a bit different and well done.
ps. Having now finished teh pour I see sediment remains in the bottle so it's bottle-conditioned.
Bought from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Cambridge, UK 330ml bottle £2.35 BB: 14/09/2021 [Oops! Just noticed that! I bought it 7-10days ago].

440ml can. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Label states ‘Hop Bitter Lager Beer’.
Fresh, hazy, funky, hoppy, yeasty, grassy, lemony, spicy, fizzy, tangy and dry.
A nicely complex, heavily hopped, German-style kellerbier from Bristol, England.
Available in UK supermarkets and consequently great value for money.

Lost & Grounded is on its way to figuring out this style that Bavarians have monopolized for too long.
While cloudier, this bier still Looks a lively blond and sports a lovely foam and lace. Smells are mostly malt, but some hops in the back of my nose. For Tastes, hops come in to balance nicely. Medium-mouthed. Its bubbles cleanse the palate. And it went fine with a salad for lunch, which cannot be said for all Kellers.
I went on their website and I see they are just starting up. But Brighton is a good place for tourists to come and drink refreshing beers. So, I wish them well.
1/25/26 Bought another copy from M&S, so Lost & Grounded has gotten into some good distribution. In 2023, this Pils won the WBC Award in the Keller category. Also in between 2019 when I first drank this from an earlier recipe, I've appropriately edited the above and increased considerably ratings for Looks and Overall Hugs. Those are for the WBC award and Lost & Grounded growing smartly beyond Brighton's tourism season.

sweet malt and spicy hops aroma. Taste brings lots more, with some effective bitterness, slightly juicy, drying finish,
