Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It is a hazy, grassy orange color with a modest, ecru cap and spotty lacing. The smell is a unique combination of sour citrus and wood smoke. Its taste opens with sour lemon, crisp and lite, over a crackery wheat base. But by mid-palate there is a subtle smoky taste that reminds me of a Grodziskie It is quite refreshing. This beer is super lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and the 3.8% ABV is barely noticeable. Overall, Lipman is a pleasant surprise for me. It is easy drinking but has lots of flavor. It would make a great summertime beach beer. Kudos to Cold Spring Brewery for taking the time and resources to brew this obscure style.
