A 1 pint can, with an illegible canned on date, poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: It was a hazy milky yellow colour, with a one finger white head that had good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Tropical and citrus juiciness, mango, papaya, orange zest and rind, with a light biscuit backend.
Taste: Lightly sweet, candied grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, grass, and a citrus zesty bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very smooth and drinks easy with good tropical and citrus fruity aromas and flavours.

Canned on 4/19/23; consumed on 5/11/23
Pours a turbid, milky pale-gold body capped with multiple fingers of fluffy, sudsy, eggshell-white foam; solid head retention leaves a slim layer of cap and a slight ring of frothy collar, while myriad spattering of soapy, webby lacing holds steadily across the walls of the glass.
Aromas waft grapefruit, papaya, and creamy lime into green pineapple sporting a grassy tinge as guava resins linger.
Taste brings mango and tinges of rainbow sherbet upfront, with grapefruit edges and a wheaty backing through the mid-palate; lime zest finds mushy pineapple on the back end as earthy resins and a lingering dank phase through the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a medium body and a silky fluff of moderate carbonation, leaving an airy dispersion fading to creamy subtext and a resinous build through the mid-palate, where boggy resins weigh through prickling pseudo-bitterness toward the back end and a juicy twang finishes.
A definitively soft NEIPA; an exceedingly drinkable yet faded mush of zestily fruity, resinous hops; easygoing, plush dominance with somehow confoundingly restrained substance.

One month old. Can to wine glass.
L: Pours a full and hazy yellow with a fluffy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. No floaters.
S: Candied citrus fruits paired with sweet pineapple and notes of peach and red apples. The typical smokiness is lingering in the background.
T: Candied orange and grapefruit followed by a distinct red apple sweetness. Herbal, grassy and smoky. Minimally zesty and slightly bitter.
F: Full and juicy with a low to medium carbonation.
O: Wow, another world class beer by R+B. Started out pretty straight forward with the typical notes of candied citrus fruits, before red apple came into play - something I've never tasted in an IPA, but makes so much sense. So complex and balanced, it might be my favorite R+B IPA thus far.

This was the second beer that I had from Root + Branch, as I picked it up a few weeks back at Evil Twin in Ridgewood. This was not as good as the first offering that I had from them, but this was so nicely done and well-balanced that it was nearly impossible not to enjoy this, down to the last sip!
The pour to this was golden, bright, and nicely cloudy as a vivacious and fluffy head topped it off. That lasted for a while as the lacing was nearly as enduring with a few rings bleeding nicely down to the one below. Tons of grass, bright and spicy bread, and bright and tropical fruit in the nose as this was perfect for spring when given a sniff. Some apple, acrid citrus notes, and light spice emerged once this warmed up as it felt a bit like a Farmhouse Ale, down to the heft.
Of course, the body was full because of the oats as the booze was present, strong, and persistent from start to finish. Funky pear and some tartness stood out in the back as this warmed me up nicely. Dated 3/18 on the can, this was a nicely crafted beer that went down easily and was full of sticky dough softened the twang just a bit. Plenty to like here if you're into fruit, balance, and something a bit different than the norm!

Pours bright hazy darker than yellow. Nose is fruity but dim, body is good but palate is kind of bland for NE ipa, hops dont really pop. reminds me a mediocre trillium
