Fine example of the ESB genre and one I would likely drink on a regular basis if I lived in Colorado Springs again.
The balance between the bready malts and the bitter hops is more equal than I prefer, but it’s still very tasty and worth drinking.

The head poured a bit thicker yet still thinned down fairly quickly. The big improvement is in the smell; richer, fuller, very malty. The taste also comes across richer and fuller. The body remains the same.
Chances are my 2018 tasting was at the brewery. I think most places pour the beer too cold which impacts the smell and taste primarily. In any case, this go around is greatly satisfying.
Served from a crowler canned May 13th, 2021, serving temperature 54° F.
---------------
Garner hues with a thin yet lasting head; sheets of foam coating the glass. Gentle roasted grain aroma. Mild caramel taste with a suggestion of rye spiciness; balanced hop bitterness. Medium bodied; warm and toasty with a fine prickliness to the palate.
This is a very fine ESB, nicely balanced between somewhat spicy malts and grains and a pleasing, complementary hop bitterness.
