A soft pillowy mouthfeel from a big addition of oats backed up by a unique blend of hops from our pals at Freestyle Hops in New Zealand.

16oz can into a pint glass. No freshness dating.

Thick pale orange juice body. Bright bubbly white head leaves streaks of lacing. Aroma is fresh and mildly non citrus fruit. On tasting, sharp, bitey, dank, some fruit, juicy. Finish is initially non citrus fruit which gradually changes to dankness.

Overall, great looking and great tasting pint. Abv hard to detect. If Ever Grain would just please date their cans....

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky honey-gold with a nice off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is sweet citrus, mango, and a hint of pine. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Finish fades to a slight citrus-rind bitterness. Overall, a great DIPA from Ever Grain.

All around, two shades above my mythical average of 3.25. A decent DIPA that Looks and Smells like a NEIPA. Has NEIPA elements in the Taste and Feel, but they make the DIPA categorization correct. Bought from Tavour.

My first from Ever Grain, I went on the website of this 4 year old. Not a lot to report from this small town on the outskirts of the Pennsylvania capital in the middle of the state. But, Ever Grain is surviving the pandemic, providing a service to its community which, uniquely, includes yoga on Sunday AM ! Cheers !

Poured from a 16 ounce can into a snifter.

Look- Pale gold, very hazy, frothy white head, average head retention, above average lacing.

Smell- Papaya, pineapple, orange.

Taste- Super piney, slight pineapple.

Feel- Lingering astringent and piney finish, between medium and full body, slightly below average carbonation, creamy, high bitterness.

Overall- This was a mix between a West Coast IPA and a New England IPA.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated...no date that I can see. Came in my last Tavour box, so probably not that old.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a medium to small head. Smell is muted, vaguely tropical.

Taste is also vaguely tropical, slight banana, a little "homebrew flavor," kind of boozy.

Mouthfeel is medium to thick. Overall, it's a decent hazy IPA.

Have you ever heard the adage of "One door closing means the opening of CANother"? The Pizza Boy horizontal became MUCH more involved than I initially imagined! Between long hours at work & not drinking as much as I would like as a result, it was a really protracted affair. It was also CANspirational in that they are based out of Enola, PA, on the west shore of the Susquehanna River, across from Harrisburg. Also on the west shore is Ever Grain in Camp Hill, PA & if that city seems familiar, then you may have been a Book of the Month Club member at one time. Fasten your seat belts as The CANQuest (tm) takes on this undertaking! 9/13.

From the CAN: "Moire Eel Double IPA"; "Hazy * Juicy * Dank"; "Camp Hill, PA"; "Est. 2016".

Just like its predecessor, Cloudy Comet, the brewery has done itself the disservice of its name & style. Since this site does not yet recognize an IPA - Double/Imperial New England, its ratings should be reflective of its non-adherence to style. If no one else's, at least mine will.

I Crack!ed open the vent & when nothing untoward ocCANurred, I proceeded with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention. Color was a turbid, murky Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). 8=( Nose smelled like a tropical fruit salad mélange, but it was difficult to parse individual fruits. 8=( Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste was an odd admixture of tropical fruit flavors in that mango & guava are usually the front-runners, but here, they took a backseat to papaya, pineapple, passionfruit & a light pine mintiness while still making an appearance. This one was far boozier than its predecessors. There was a definite fusel alcohol heat present in this one, throughout. Frankly, this was heartening to me since it really cut down on what could have otherwise been a cloying fruity sweetness. Finish was semi-dry & while still fruity, it was palatable. YMMV.

Wonderful orange juice milkshake look to this brew with a fading white head. Nose is sweet and citrus based and fairly potent...again good. It’s in the flavor where, in my eyes, this fails a bit. It’s got an astringent overtone that makes it seem
boozy. It’s like caramel malt mixed with the wrong hops? Maybe. Creamy feel on this beer. Glad to have tried this courtesy of my bro-in-law Todd but it’s not among my favorites. Edit. By the end of the beer ”hiccup” she was more caramel and less astringent.

poured this double IPA from a pint can in May, 2020. Straw colored and very hazy. Dank, with a boozy mineral flavor on the back end. Good, but not as good as other offerings from Evergrain
