Brewed with high-quality Pilsner, a touch of Torrefied Maize, and lightly hopped with German noble hop, Saaz, for a light, clean, crisp, and easy-drinking Lager.

12 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Canned maybe 9/27/24, had 10/8/24.
Pours a clear, light golden color, with a two inch head of creamy foam and some foamy lacing. Active carbonation. Aromas of malt, light corn, light black pepper, light funk. Smells a little herbal and creamy. Flavors of malt, light yeast, a little corn. Smooth, semi dry, a good very light body, well carbonated.
This is quite light, which is not a characteristic I turn to often when selecting a beer. It’s good and enjoyable, though.

Another good lunch lager from a Chicago micro that specialises in other styles. Maybe the lager revolution is taking root.
Ethan opens Looking pretty good, nice head with decent retention on a blonde bod. Smells are mostly muted malt. The sweet malt gets balanced barely by light hops, leaving a clean finish. Medium-mouthed in a light style.
As for suitability with my lunch, I had two veggie burgers with assorted sauces mixed from mayo to ketchup to dijon to BBQ. Ethan did his job, cleaning my palate and washing down the not always good sauce experiments without culinary commentary on my cooking. For that silent performance and my having intended to try more from OIBC and not having had the time before moving, I give them very good Overall Hugs. Too many micros, too little time.
