50 cl can from the brewery in Prague - best by date 14 03 2026.
Pours a not quite crystal clear golden yellow with a solid three fingers of puffy white head on a fairly aggressive pour into a dimpled mug.
Aroma is bready and slightly floral with notes of honey, along with a spicy noble hop aroma.
Sweet bready malt on the palate, again a bit of honey, honeysuckle with a moderate spicy hop flavour at the end giving way to a very nice bitterness.
Bright and crisp medium mouthfeel with active carbonation and a smooth clean bittersweet finish. Had the 11° on tap in the brewery and brought a can home which was good though not as good as on tap - this was spectacular.

I had this beer on-tap in a dimpled mug at the brewery in Prague.

Appearance: medium golden hue with just a dash of haze. Head is two fingers of creamy ivory foam due to the lovely side pour.

Smell: slightly sweet with a lovely malt character and a nice yeastiness. There’s also a pleasing floral aroma here. Very good.

Taste: malt is slightly sweet and slightly bready, with a nice level of smooth yeastiness. Hops are a little herbal and have just enough bitter bite to make for a nicely crisp beer. Really good.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a lovely, rich carbonation and smooth creaminess. So, so smooth!

Overall: part of the allure here is the excellent experience given by the wonderful pour — great for both appearance and texture. So I doubt it’s so good out of a can, but on draft, it’s really very good.

Pours a clear dark yellow with thick, soapy head.

Smell is crisp, bready and herbal. Notes of citrus, knäckebröd, buttered toast and some spicy hints.

Taste is crisp, bready and spicy. Moderate bitterness and notes of knäckebröd, citrus, buttered toast and rye with some herbal hints.

Mouthfeel is medium, creamy and well carbonated.

Overall, a terrific modern Czech pilsner.

If this were the only Czech Pilsner on the planet, that would be good enough for me. I'd be happy.
That said, much of the competition Looks better. I gave 12 a hard pour to start and got a big foam After it disappeared, I gave a close pour and it disappeared really fast, like 10 seconds. IMHO, 12 could use a better yeast. Smells are NBDMM (No Big Deal Mostly Malt.) However, Tastes are very well balanced throughout. The Czech Pils competition typically comes on strong with the hops and by the finish, typically, I'm wondering where the sweet malt is. Not so with 12. Its sweet malt is only moderated by the hops and, I confess, that is my bias on this style.

I bought this can at Mikkeller & Friends' bottle shop in Copenhagen's Norreport Food Market (a great place to buy beer and food.) Being on M&F's shelves is high enough praise. But while I was there, the two staffers got in an argument about whether the Vino's 11 or 12 was the best lager on the planet. (I didn't get involved... or break it up.) But I do want to explain the good Overall Hugs I give Vino. They have a pretty good website for a nine-year and they have an English button. However, they could improve the site by giving me more copy so I know what motivates them beyond the normal crafter. But next time I see their brew, I will snag one and go on their site and report back. Na zdraví !

Look: Straw coloured crystal clear beer with 2 finger fluffy white head. Lots of lacing with this lager.
Smell: faintly grainy and sweet, not much really going on with the aroma but it's a pleasant aroma.
Taste: Saaz, malt sweetness and grain. Exactly what you want from a czech pilsner.
Feel: light body and highly carbonated, the can admits as much.
Overall: Very good session lager. 100% recommended.
