In celebration of baby making season, the head brewer, owner, as well as his wife are expecting their first child. In commemoration of the event, a red ale is born with citrusy American hops, copious amounts of both orange and mango for a decidedly fruit experience.
Hazy red and cast in a diffused mauve glow, Babies and Mimosas blossoms with a boisterous tropical and citrus perfume. Recognizable as much as a mixed drink as it does beer, a hint of herbal hops and sun kissed grains tingle the nose. Sweet on the tongue, fruit juices coupled with simple syrups, honey and toast permeate the taste early and often.
Tangy, semisweet and fruity, the middle palate rolls the orange and mango together for a true fruit punch character. Toasted grains add a slight robust flavor that brings a red berry flavor. Playful acidity seems winey, tangy and loaded with fruit acidities as a late palate looms with a late hop bitterness of mint, fresh grassiness and fruit peels.
Medium bodied and retaining a malty sweet late palate, the beer's fruit wins out as a taste of fruit juices and rose wine tartness swirl on the finish with a crisp, refreshing and fruit forward brightness. A medium long aftertaste of blood orange and mango play whimsically after after.
