Twinning up another brew, the ever popular but banal blond ale that paves the way for the Mirror Twin team goes under the knife. That is, to slice and dice up a bunch of cucumbers and lemons for a bright, crisp and summer overlay on the brewery's lager-esque ale.
Pale straw and foggy with haze, the slimly headed beer leads with the overwhelming perfume of cucumber to exhibit a floral and nearly mint-like brightness. An alluring background of citrus teases the nose before a grainy-sweet taste of malt yields bready, light honey and cereal proportions.
As the middle palate unfolds, its the base beer of pilsner malt that brings that cereal sweetness across the tastebuds before a late palate of scant hops offer its own grapefruit and orange peel taste and lightly resinous balance. The lemon additions keep the session bright after the vegetal flavors wean and usher in a late palate of gin, vermouth and martini.
Medium light in body, the easy drinking ale hits on all refreshing and drinkability cylinders and teases with an after palate of floral cucumbers for a simplistic but alluring taste all in one. Its perfect for an accompaniment to summer salads, a olive oil based pizzas or.... ah hell, just drink the beer alone- its basically a salad as it is.
